Tijuana Flats, the fast-casual Tex-Mex original, launched a fall fundraising initiative in support of childhood cancer awareness.

From October 14–November 3, through its non-profit arm, the Just in Queso Foundation, Tijuana Flats will encourage guests to round up their change as a donation to support research, treatment and awareness efforts for childhood cancer. During the same time period, the brand will also donate proceeds from the sales of bottles of Jason’s Mom’s Sauce, a sweet-spicy combo hot sauce to fund childhood cancer research and awareness programs.

“At Tijuana Flats, we believe in the power of our full-flavored Tex-Mex and our one-of-a-kind communities,” says Brian Wright, chief executive officer. “So, this fall, we’re encouraging our guests to donate their change and take home a bottle of Jason’s Mom’s Hot Sauce, to help us in the fight against childhood cancer.”

The fundraiser, originally scheduled for September, was paused for the Tex-Mex brand to raise money for hurricane relief efforts in the Bahamas following the devastation the country faced due to Hurricane Dorian. That initiative, which encouraged guests to round-up their change as a donation, resulted in $50,000 raised. All funds raised will be provided to the Red Cross.

Since 2007, the Just in Queso Foundation has raised and distributed more than $4 million in support of organizations benefiting children, the military and local communities.
