Taco Bell brought unexpected innovation to a classic when they introduced Nacho Fries and turned it into a $1 billion business. Now they’re taking another staple and giving it the Taco Bell twist with Crispy Tortilla Chicken.
Crispy Tortilla Chicken is a pairing of Taco Bell’s new, premium all-white meat chicken that’s been marinated in bold jalapeno buttermilk flavored marinade and rolled in a crunchy tortilla chip coating. The strips are served with Taco Bell’s new signature dipping sauce, Creamy Chili Pepper Sauce, and is the brand’s latest foray into fried chicken.
The team in Taco Bell’s Test Kitchen created nearly 100 iterations before landing on the perfect recipe. And it wouldn’t be fried chicken at Taco Bell without a taco, so the Crispy Tortilla Chicken will also be served inside a taco, giving fans the chance for a bite of two favorites at once.
The menu item will test in Houston and Dayton starting Thursday with more to come to fans everywhere in 2020. Taco Bell’s latest and greatest is available at $1.99 for a taco, $2.99 for 2pc, $3.99 for 3pc and of course in $5 and $7 boxes.
