Fast-casual meets fine dining as Just Salad, the fast-casual concept serving healthy food at an affordable price, announced a collaboration with esteemed New York City Chef Joey Campanaro to launch The Big Apple Salad. Proceeds from The Big Apple Salad will benefit Relief Opportunities for all Restaurants (ROAR NY), which provides direct cash assistance to individual restaurant workers who face an immediate need for financial aid following the COVID19 outbreak. The salad is now available exclusively on the Just Salad app, or online at orderjustsalad.com through May 31, 2020.

“We are grateful to Chef Campanaro for teaming up with us to help our restaurant community,” says Nick Kenner, Founder and CEO of Just Salad. “This partnership is illustrative of the comradery the restaurant industry is so passionate about. Not only are we offering a new option for our customers to enjoy, we’re truly working to help our peers as we all face immeasurable challenges.”

“Little Owl and I are flattered to be considered to partner with Just Salad’s generous and very thoughtful initiative to help to support our restaurant workers during this horrific time in our lives,” says Chef Campanaro. “I am also intrigued to be a part of an emerging, different, new and exciting type of foodservice business.”

Chef Campanaro, co-owner of Little Owl, Market Table and The Clam, teamed up with Just Salad to introduce a salad that would showcase the sophisticated flavors of his upcoming cookbook titled Big Love Cooking, as well as represent the healthful and affordable Just Salad brand. Classic and contemporary, this spring enthused salad based with spinach and arugula and topped with shaved parmesan, avocado, apples, almonds, poppy seeds and a vibrant lemon basil vinaigrette is meant to nurture hope and provide balanced bursts of flavor and texture in each bite.

Just Salad has initiated a number of efforts to support its community and employees amid the pandemic. The restaurant has donated 10,000 meals a week to Mount Sinai hospitals starting in March, and launched Just Grocery, a service providing meal kits, fresh produce, pantry staples and household essentials for consumers via delivery in 90 minutes or less.
