Edible has made two significant appointments to its operations leadership team. Effective immediately, Scott Wakeman will now serve as executive vice president of operations, and Kelly Turner will now serve as director of operations international.

“At the rate we’re currently growing and innovating, it is crucial that we have the right leaders in place to help us continue on this positive trajectory,” says Edible president and COO Cheikh Mboup. “In recent months, Edible has experienced a number of impressive new milestones, including record-breaking Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day results, a same-store sales increase of 61 percent in April and consumer education about Edible’s expanding menu with items such as whole produce boxes. Scott and Kelly’s proven track records of impactful leadership for our brand make them perfectly suited to lead us to bigger accomplishments than ever before.”

Wakeman previously served as executive vice president of marketing for Edible. In this previous role, he gained hands-on experience with marketing Edible in a way that directly connected him to the operational side at an extraordinary time in the history of the company and the world. Now as executive vice president of operations, Wakeman will continue to report to Mboup and will oversee operations of the rapidly expanding franchise network at a time of unprecedented growth in same-store sales across the system.

Before her newly appointed position, Turner spent her first four years with Edible as a franchise owner in Ontario, Canada, before transitioning to corporate in June of 2019 when she took on the role of a franchise business consultant for Edible in Canada. In her new role, Turner will now report directly to Scott Wakeman as she provides international franchisee support while overseeing operations of Edible across Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Italy.

“Scott’s experience in marketing our brand to achieve new heights makes him an excellent candidate for pushing us to continued operational success, and Kelly’s grassroots experience as a franchise owner in our system makes her especially well-equipped to take on this international leadership role on our operations team,” Mboup says. “I look forward to seeing how they continue to raise the bar for what Edible Brands can do to meet the needs of the public in lasting ways.”

As the brand progresses into the second half of 2020, both Wakeman and Turner will take on their new roles directly from Edible’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
