Whataburger’s long-requested Spicy Chicken Sandwich was such a hit when the brand introduced it in September, it decided to keep it around a little longer. And now it’s even better. The sandwich now comes standard on a new brioche bun.

The sandwich starts with a marinated, crispy chicken filet, topped with fresh, cool leaf lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo.

“Spicy chicken is a trend we love and one our customers have really embraced – that’s why we decided to keep the sandwich on the menu a little while longer,” says Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. “But this time, it’s even better, complete with a new brioche bun. We spent a lot of time working to get this right, and hope our fans continue to enjoy this flavor-filled sandwich in the new year.”

Whataburger’s BBQ Bacon Burger is also back for a limited time.

The BBQ Bacon Burger has three slices of savory bacon, smoked cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese – paired with two of Whataburger’s 100 percent fresh, pure beef patties and a smoky tangy BBQ sauce, all atop a five-inch bun.

“Whataburger’s Signature BBQ Sauce has been a fan-favorite for many years, so it’s no surprise this burger became an instant hit with our customers,” Scheffler adds. “There’s just something about the combination of bacon, smoked cheddar cheese and tangy BBQ sauce that never disappoints, and we know this will be a customer favorite for years to come.”
