Condado Tacosthe award-winning taco joint specializing in unique tacos, tequilas and margaritas, will open its first Condado Carryout location in Powell at 4052 Presidential Parkway on Monday, March 15 at 11 a.m. The pilot concept will offer the same great Condado Tacos menu as the company tests a new pick-up and curbside exclusive experience as well as an expanded delivery footprint and added capacity for catering. Condado Carryout, just north of Columbus, will offer the full Condado Tacos build-your-own menu of innovative and affordable tacos, bowls and nachos.

“Condado Carryout is a natural progression of the Condado Tacos experience designed to bring our crave-worthy tacos to more customers who may already be familiar with our full-service restaurants,” says Scott Shotter, President, Condado Tacos. “As we collectively experienced in 2020, Condado saw significant changes in customer behavior in a matter of months. And we believe this desire for convenience will continue even after customers feel safe dining in-restaurant at full capacity, making now the time to pursue the new Condado Carryout concept.”

Prior to the pandemic, Condado saw approximately 10 percent of business off-premise. That shifted overnight to 100 percent off-premise for a number of weeks while dining rooms were closed across the country, and now continues to be a significant segment as reduced capacity dining has returned.

Throughout 2020, Condado engaged in a number of operational changes in anticipation of a likely to be permanent off-premise shift. Teams worked quickly to make adjustments to packaging, technology and service while also improving carry out practices and launching curbside pick-up, where available. Condado tapped industry-leader, OLO, to support off-premise ordering and third-party integrations, while increasing paid digital efforts and organic social media support to drive traffic online. Through the OLO partnership, Condado was able to quickly roll-out native delivery and further system integrations with additional third-party delivery services throughout the last year. In addition, Condado anticipates rolling out a new mobile ordering application with integrated loyalty programming later this year.

“Condado Carryout will be an easy and convenient place to grab a Bud Box or family meal without compromising our existing customer bases for the Polaris and Dublin restaurants,” adds Shotter. “With the Condado Carryout model, we’ll continue to be well positioned to serve the high volume of catering orders for business events, graduation parties, wedding receptions and more that we already receive, and we know customers in that area are eager to resume.”

With 23 locations in eight markets across four states, Condado resonates with a broad audience through its come-as-you-are vibe and emphasis on delivering high-quality food and service. The Condado Tacos menu, including the restaurant’s luscious Queso Blanco that blends cheese, cream and milk paired perfectly with house-made chips and one-of-a-kind double-deckers with a hard corn shell wrapped in a soft flour tortilla make Condado a crave-worthy meal for families and groups with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

As with all of the Ohio restaurants, Condado Tacos is following all State of Ohio and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for restaurants including masks required for employees, handwashing and all cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
