Wow Bao is bringing its signature bao, bowls and potstickers to 100 new locations across the U.S. and Canada starting in May, thanks to an agreement with segment leader, Ghost Kitchen Brands. Many of these new kitchens will live inside Walmart stores offering some seating, and all locations included in the deal will offer carry-out and third-party delivery. Wow Bao began the ghost and dark kitchen growth initiative in 2019 and has grown from 6 stores to over 300 operations since then.

“We are thrilled to accelerate our expansion across the U.S. and Canada with this important partnership and the innovators at Ghost Kitchen Brands,” says Geoff Alexander, president & CEO of Wow Bao. “As we grow our footprint and our brand, it is important for Wow Bao to form the right alliances and we certainly found that in George and his team at Ghost Kitchen Brands.”

Wow Bao is an innovative, fast-casual Asian restaurant born in Chicago in 2003 and now can be found across America in small towns, big cities, colleges, airports and select grocery stores thanks to consumer demand, the rise of third-party delivery and Wow Bao’s push into ghost and dark kitchens.

“Wow Bao is a proven leader in the ghost kitchen movement and a great partner for us during this important time of reinvention of the food business,” says George Kottas, Founder and CEO of GKB. “Wow Bao’s high-quality food items are a great compliment to our existing food brands, which consumers can mix and match, and our growing ghost kitchen portfolio.”
