Viva Chicken, a fast-casual Peruvian rotisserie joint, announced the lease signing of its next location at the Nexton Development in Summerville. The restaurant is slated to open in December 2021.
This first Summerville restaurant will be located within Nexton Square – 506 Nexton Square Drive, Suite 103, Summerville, easily accessible from Interstate 26. This is the second restaurant opening for the privately-owned company in South Carolina this year; in the fall Viva will open its first Greenville, SC location and a second upstate location will open in early 2022.
Founded by Chef Bruno Macchiavello and Randy Garcia, Viva Chicken has been cooking up fresh, flavorful Peruvian food since 2013. Viva’s menu is highlighted by Pollo a la Brasa – charcoal-fire-roasted chicken served hot and fresh – a staple of Peruvian street food. The menu also includes soups, salads, sandwiches, bowls and a variety of signature sides in a welcoming, casual environment.
Viva is in good company at Nexton alongside other local favorites Taco Boy, Bad Daddy’s, Vicious Biscuit and more, and is excited to join the beautiful and dynamically master-planned community.

The Nexton location will be the 14th for the fast-casual brand. Viva Chicken also has restaurants in the Charlotte area, North Carolina Triad and Utah.
