Red Mango has announced a development agreement to open four stores in Westchester County, New York.

Brandy Benson, a managing director at a financial public relations agency, and former Brooklyn assistant district attorney, has signed a development agreement to open the four locations over the next several years. Benson is currently scouting sites throughout Westchester County.

Benson first heard about Red Mango from friend Terri Keogh, who recently opened a Red Mango location in Gainesville, Florida. Benson tried the product and was sold.

“It was the best frozen yogurt I had ever tasted, and there was nothing like it near me in Westchester,” Benson says. “Plus, the brand’s attributes – that it’s healthy, nutritious, and low-calorie – are all on trend. Those qualities combined with the company’s commitment to, and vision for, the brand were very compelling to me.”

Benson’s brother, Tom Bergman, a former restaurant owner, will operate the stores. The siblings plan to open the first location by the fall of 2010.

“The Westchester community is going to love the clean, modern aesthetics of the Red Mango store design and the healthy and delicious product line of yogurt, teas, smoothies, and parfaits,” Benson says.

Red Mango is currently awarding franchise opportunities in select markets across the country. More information is available at www.redmangofranchising.com.
