Jamba Juice Company and The Inventure Group, Inc. unveiled plans today for the launch of their new line of make-at-home smoothies that will be available for sale through grocery retailers primarily in the Western United States.

Jamba All Natural Smoothies begin shipping to retailers in March and will be available in three of the Jamba brand’s most popular flavors including Razzmatazz, Mango-a-Go-Go, and Strawberries Wild. The smoothies will arrive in stand-up vertical packaging and contain frozen fruit, non-fat yogurt, and Jamba Juice’s signature antioxidant boosts. Each eight-ounce package retails between $2.99 and $3.29 and makes two, eight-ounce servings.

Jamba Juice leveraged its own unique smoothie formulations to provide a meaningful point of difference for consumers within the retail channel. The Jamba All Natural Smoothies, as with all Jamba Juice products, contain no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no high fructose corn syrup. Additionally, the Jamba All Natural Smoothies are fat free and contain just 120 calories or less per serving. Each eight-ounce smoothie contains one full serving of fruit and 100 percent of the daily value of Vitamin C.

“We’re introducing a unique, great tasting, better-for-you smoothie solution for retailers who want to capitalize on the $2.6 billion made-to-order smoothie category and the health and wellness oriented shoppers looking for simple solutions to eating healthier,” says Steve Sklar, senior vice president of marketing for The Inventure Group. “Additionally, we now have a product that provides our grocery and warehouse club partners’ an opportunity to create a new usage occasion that draws consumers to their stores.” As a testament to the made-to-order smoothie category’s healthy growth, Mintel estimates that smoothie shop sales grew more than 45 percent from 2004 to 2009.

Jamba Juice has 742 locations across the United States, and experiences more than 100 million visits to those stores annually. To ensure the make-at-home product aligns with the great taste and high quality consumers expect from Jamba Juice, Jamba All Natural Smoothies are based on the same popular flavors available at Jamba Juice store locations. Consumers simply add fruit juice, blend, and in about a minute, enjoy the Jamba Juice experience from the comfort and convenience of their own home.
