Alfred Keilen will open Boston’s first Vapiano restaurant at 191 Stuart Street, the corner of Stuart Street and Charles Street South. The new 5,400 square foot Vapiano location was the first choice in the entire market by Keilen and will feature an outdoor lounge along Stuart Street and a large outdoor patio along Charles Street South for dinner. This new Vapiano will be located in the theater district near a new W Hotel and a block away from Boston Common.

Keilen, along with his wife Steffi and three children, relocated from Germany to Boston earlier this year to become the Vapiano franchisee. “I was originally a CPA in Germany with Vapiano as a client so I am familiar with owning by own company and was able to see first hand the upside of the Vapiano business,” he says. “I first fell in love with Boston when I was 15 years old and always wanted to move my family here so when the chance to move to Boston and also operate the Vapiano franchises came up, it was a dream opportunity. Boston has always reminded me of many of the European cities where I have seen Vapiano restaurants thrive and I can’t wait to open.”

“I’ve spent a lot of time in Boston as the former senior vice president with Legal Sea Foods,” says Bill Bessette, CEO of Vapiano. “The Park Plaza Legal Sea Foods was a huge success and I know the Transportation Building area well. Vapiano is going to be a nice, fresh addition to an already wonderful part of Boston. The value Vapiano brings is going to be a big stand out for this location.”
