The Cereal Bowl announced that it opened its first New Jersey location in Brunswick on October 30. The official grand opening will take place November 7 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The location is the second franchise opened by the Florida-based company and the first of several new locations scheduled to open over the next few months. The Cereal Bowl will open in Washington, D.C., in December and on the Carnegie Mellon campus in Qatar’s Education City in February. The Brunswick unit is located across from Rutgers University and on the ground floor of Rockoff Hall.

The 1,500-square-foot café will serve cold and hot cereals from morning to night, where customers will be able to make their own mix from dozens of cereal choices and over 40 toppings ranging from fresh fruits and nuts to candy and granola. The Cereal Bowl also features a menu section called “Beyond the Bowl,” which is devoted to cereal outside the bowl, including oatmeal smoothies (Oaties), parfaits, cereal frozen yogurt, and the company’s line of Semi-Serious Coffee drinks.

“I am delighted by the amount of interest and excitement people have shown,” says CEO Kenneth Rader. “People seem to really have fallen in love with this concept and want to know when we will be bringing the Cereal Bowl to a location near them.”
