Rita’s Italian Ice announced that the company began selling franchises in San Antonio. Earlier this year, Texas became the 18th state to join the Rita’s franchise family, with the opening of the first location in Bedford and a second location in Flower Mound, both in the northern suburbs of Dallas-Fort Worth.
The expansion of franchise markets in Texas illustrates Rita’s aggressive statewide growth plan set forth by Jim Rudolph, chairman of the board and CEO of Rita’s. “We are excited to further develop our footprint in Texas, and we look forward to signing development agreements and opening more stores in the years to come,” Rudolph says.
A total of three locations will be open in Texas by the end of 2009, with 20 additional franchise agreements currently in development. All of Rita’s new locations offer walk-in service, and all stores will be open year-round.
