Proving its commitment to health and nutrition for families, the Subway restaurant chain and Shamrock Farms are partnering to provide nutrient-rich milk as part of its Subway Fresh Fit meal selections.

Shamrock Farms, one of the largest family-owned and operated dairies in the country, will provide milk at almost 22,000 Subway Restaurants nationwide within the Subway Fresh Fit and Subway Fresh Fit for Kids meals.

“We strive to provide Americans with balanced meal options that taste great, are made with the freshest ingredients and provide convenient nutritious eating options,” says Lanette Kovachi, corporate dietitian for the Subway brand.

“Partnering with Shamrock Farms – a premium, wholesome milk brand – was a natural choice to boost our Subway Fresh Fit meal offerings.”

A result of a continued focus on helping Americans achieve healthier lives through a nutritious diet, the announcement today is an extension of the exclusive partnership Subway and Shamrock Farms created in 2007.

The Subway Fresh Fit meal allows customers to select the six-inch low-fat submarine sandwich of their choice and to substitute Shamrock Farms low fat milk for soft drinks, baked chips and yogurt. The Subway Fresh Fit for Kids meal allows customers to select the low-fat mini submarine sandwich of their choice, Shamrock Farms low fat milk or juice and apples. Reduced fat chocolate milk is also available nationwide and strawberry milk is available at participating Subway restaurant locations. Since Shamrock Farms is committed to providing the most nutritious milk, all of its milk is free of the growth hormone rBST.

“At Shamrock Farms, we continually strive to provide the freshest, most wholesome milk to families,” said Mike Krueger, senior vice president and general manager for Shamrock Farms.

“By partnering with Subway Restaurants, we can provide great tasting milk, with its essential nutrients, as the perfect complement to your favorite Subway sandwich.”
