Call it Caesar salad with an attitude.

Wendy’s announced today that it’s bringing back the Southwest Chicken Caesar Salad as a limited-time offering during April and May. Starting this week, the salad will be available at Wendy’s restaurants for the first time since 2003.

The premium salad features seasoned diced chicken, corn and black beans, and grape tomatoes on a bed of crisp Romaine lettuce–garnished with shredded natural Parmesan cheese and garlic croutons. A special Southwest Caesar dressing complements the salad and gives it a zesty kick.

“Wendy’s has been known for outstanding salads for almost 30 years, and our bold, flavorful Southwest Chicken Caesar Salad continues this tradition,” says Paul Kershisnik, Wendy’s interim chief marketing officer. “It stands out as our most popular promotional salad in recent years.

“We continue to chop and prepare the Romaine and Iceberg lettuce for our premium salads and sandwiches right in our restaurant kitchens everyday to ensure freshness and quality, rather than using bagged, pre-cut head and shredded lettuce like our competitors.”
