The Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF) today announced this year’s lineup of keynote speakers for the 2008 WFF Annual Leadership Development Conference, to be held April 13–16 in Washington, D.C. at the new Gaylord National® Resort & Convention Center.

General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), one of the most admired men in America, will deliver a compelling presentation reflecting his years of service at the highest levels of international affairs. He will be speaking on leadership to illustrate precisely what embodies a true leader and demonstrate how to consistently be focused and take responsibility while working to improve processes, organizations and people. This session will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 during the general session.

Prior to General Powell’s presentation, Susan L. Taylor, Editor Emerita of ESSENCE Magazine, will kick the conference off at the Multicultural Keynote Event on Sunday, April 13 with a presentation on diversity and the challenges facing women of color in today’s business world. Taylor’s focus is on creating equity in education and reclaiming lives to create peaceful, productive and sustainable communities. Taylor was the driving force behind one of the most celebrated African American–owned business success stories of the past three decades and now dedicates her time to the National Cares Mentoring Movement. Founded by Taylor in 2006, the National Cares Mentoring Movement encourages black adults to serve as mentors for at-risk young people.

Leadership and business motivational speaker, Dr. Bertice Berry, will address audiences on Monday, April 14 during the general session, addressing difficult topics such as racism and sexism. Dr. Berry is an award-winning entertainer, lecturer, best-selling author and comedienne. She has been featured on numerous television programs, including appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and most recently on ABC’s 20/20. She was also host and co-executive producer of her own nationally syndicated talk show, The Bertice Berry Show.
