Beginning today, Hardee’s will offer
its guests a getaway from boring chicken sandwiches and a ticket to a lunch
hour paradise: the new Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich.

The new sandwich combines
the taste of a Hardee’s charbroiled chicken breast with a
savory-sweet teriyaki sauce and a slice of grilled pineapple. Top it off
with melting Swiss cheese, red onion, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise, and
it’s a tropical temptation too good to pass up.

The Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich offers guests a refreshing alternative to
the bevy of Angus-beef Thickburgers also featured on Hardee’s
menu. It is the first new chicken sandwich for the chain since the popular
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich launched earlier this year. With the introduction
of the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich, Hardee’s re-confirms its commitment to
bringing sit-down restaurant quality to the world of fast-food.

“Hawaiian chicken sandwiches are a common menu item at sit-down
restaurants and we have had great success in recent years making those
kinds of products available to fast-food customers,” says Brad Haley,
executive vice president of marketing for Hardee’s restaurants.

“From the
introduction of the original 100 percent Angus beef line of Thickburgers
more than four years ago–which have now been copied by most other major
fast-food burger chains–to the Patty Melt Thickburger introduced earlier
this summer, Hardee’s has really built a reputation as a premium quality
burger place, and now we’re expanding that to include distinctive chicken
sandwiches as well.”

The Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich is offered for a limited time only and will be sold at participating Hardee’s restaurants for $3.79 or at
$5.59 for a small combo which includes new Natural Cut French Fries and a
small drink. Prices may vary.
