Baskin-Robbins will introduce new Candy Bar Madness ice cream treats in partnership with The Hershey Company today. Baskin-Robbins has delved deep into the world of sweet treats, announcing survey results revealing the country’s candy bar eating habits and preferences.

Baskin-Robbins and Hershey’s, two iconic brands in the business of making sweet treats, have come together to create an ice cream and candy bar pairings. The result is the introduction of nine tantalizing Candy Bar Madness treats including ice cream, shakes, sundaes, and ice cream cakes made with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bar Crunch, Kissables and Kisses.

“Candy Bars and ice cream are two American classics,” says Scott Colwell, Baskin-Robbins’ vice president of marketing. “Our survey shows Americans love delicious combinations of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. Together with Hershey’s, we are excited to take candy bar favorites and provide a sweet ice cream twist, satisfying the ultimate American sweet tooth.”

The Candy Bar Madness survey, conducted with Insight Express, marks the launch of Baskin-Robbins’ new candy-inspired ice cream treats. The survey polled a random nationwide sampling of 1,000 adults over 18 and uncovered interesting insights into the classic candy treats.

What defines a candy bar? Thirty-three percent of Americans polled said if a piece of candy has a chocolate outer shell, then it is a candy bar. In addition, a resounding 47 percent of Americans agree chocolate is the ultimate candy bar ingredient, followed by peanut butter with 21 percent.

Forty-one percent of Americans eat at least one candy bar a month and 39 percent eat one candy bar a week.
