Popeyes® Chicken & Biscuits, a division of AFC Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: AFCE – News), today announced the Oct. 1 nationwide launch of its new Big Flava Chicken Deluxe Sandwich.

The white meat chicken fillet is hand-breaded and fried in the restaurants, and the sandwich is topped off with a round, artisan bun with a French-style crust, tomato slice and full leaf lettuce.

Marinated in peppers, onions and garlic, the chicken sandwich isn’t shy about flavor. It is available in both “tame” and spicy versions. The bread – reminiscent of the New Orleans Po’Boy – and the nuttiness of the breading compliment the cayenne heat of Popeyes’ chicken.

“Our customers will experience flavor from the inside out,” Billy Jacob, executive chef for Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, said in a press release. “Since our chicken is marinated and freshly prepared in each restaurant, they will taste the flavor of the chicken followed by the freshness of the breading, lettuce, tomato and artisan bun.”

Popeyes also created its Big Flava Chicken Deluxe Sandwich with portability in mind. As convenience often impacts consumers’ buying decisions, Popeyes has responded by introducing a chicken sandwich that is easily eaten and always enjoyed.
