The inaugural Nathan’s Famous World French Fry-Eating Championship will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31 at the Nathan’s Famous location in Oceanside, New York. Expected to compete is a host of professional eating super-stars and local New York favorites including World Pomme Frites-Eating Champion Ed “Cookie” Jarvis, World Matzo Ball-Eating Champion Eric “Badland”’ Booker, “Beautiful” Brian Seiken, Allen “Shredder” Goldstein, and Don “Moses” Lerman.

“The Nathan’s Famous World French Fry-Eating Championship is a perfect way to honor this simple, but ever-so-delicious staple of our menu,” says Wayne Norbitz, president and COO of Nathan’s Famous. “This event accentuates our customers’ love affair with our French fries, which has been going on ever since Nathan’s was founded in 1916.”

The event will be sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE), which also sanctions the world-renowned Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest.
