The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation has announced that PepsiCo, Inc. has pledged $82,500 to continue its support to the NRAEF’s educational programs and initiatives in 2004. This new support brings PepsiCo’s three-year commitment to the NRAEF to more than $200,000. PepsiCo’s contribution will assist the NRAEF in its ongoing efforts to develop solutions addressing workforce issues currently facing the restaurant and foodservice industry.

“We are delighted by PepsiCo’s continued support of the NRAEF’s many important programs and initiatives, particularly our risk management priority,” said Mary M. Adolf, NRAEF president and chief operating officer. “Our partnership with Pepsi has laid the groundwork for excellence as the industry continues to be the cornerstone of the economy, career-and-employment opportunities, and communities.”

PepsiCo’s donation will support the International Food Safety Council; a diversity scholarship program in conjunction with the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance and the NRAEF; the 12th Annual Golf and Leadership Classic; and the 28th Annual Monterey Wine Festival. Both events raise funds to support the NRAEF’s educational initiatives.

“We are pleased to continue our support of the NRAEF’s educational programs and initiatives with this donation,” said Steve Caldeira, vice president, industry relations for PepsiCo. “Our partnership with the NRAEF is a key component of our ongoing commitment to support the continued growth and development of the restaurant and foodservice industry.”
