The Arby’s Foundation™ divvied up $50,000 in scholarship money between twelve outstanding youths from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) mentoring program. Arby’s Foundation Board member and vice president of operations for Triarc Restaurant Group, Chuck Sliker, made official scholarship presentations to the recipients at the awards ceremony June 29 at the BBBSA Leadership Summit in St. Louis.
Winners of this year’s $20,000 scholarships are Julia Nadine Smith, who participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Robert Glazer, who participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mesa, Arizona. And additional ten “littles” received a one-year, $1,000 scholarship.
More than 110 students have received scholarships through the program since its inception in 1986. The Arby’s Foundation/BBBSA scholarships are awarded only to current or former participants of the national organization.
