Jersey Mike’s announced May 3 management changes designed to foster growth of the 200-unit submarine sandwich franchise corporation.

Peter Cancro remains as president of the Wall Township, New Jersey-based corporation. “I prefer the term president, instead of CEO or chairman of the board,” stated Cancro. “It more accurately reflects my hands-on involvement in Jersey Mike’s.”

Reporting directly to the president are three senior vice presidents. Together, the four officers will operate as the company’s executive committee. The three senior vice presidents named by Cancro are as follows:

Michael Manzo, who also serves as the company’s director of operations, has been part of the Jersey Mike’s management team since 1996. He will remain responsible for the company’s operational issues and vendor relations.

Micheal Parkhill will remain as the company’s real estate director in addition to his position as senior vice president. He will be responsible for Jersey Mike’s quickly expanding corporate store division as well as overseeing the company’s financial planning.

John Haulenbeek, the company’s general counsel, will add the duties of senior vice president. He will oversee Jersey Mike’s strategic planning and human resource needs.

The company also announced that Kert Gennings, a senior executive, would no longer be a part of the Jersey Mike’s management team. “This was a mutual decision Kert and I made,” says Cancro. “We are all grateful to Kert for his work over the past three years and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

In addition, Jeanmarie Lyons has been named franchise director of the company.

Jersey Mike’s was founded on the Jersey Shore in 1956. The franchising company is privately owned by Peter Cancro, who at age 17 purchased the original location and has since turned it into a national franchise.
