Fog Cutter Capital Group's Fatburger restaurant unit announced the opening of their first two locations in Reno, Nevada. The Northtowne restaurant opened February 14 followed closely by a second restaurant at the Summit Mall on March 14.

Albert Yang, a first-time Fatburger franchisee owns both restaurants and says that business in the Northtowne store has been robust during its first month. Yang attributes some of its success to an excellent location and early neighborhood outreach.

"Our business is benefitting from a very visible location at the North McCarran Crossing. It's one of the busiest intersections in town," Yang says. "We've also established a presence in the community prior to opening. Our stores were designed and built by Reno contractors, our job fair was covered on local TV, and we've been able to contribute catering to several fundraising and charity events in the city.

"We've enjoyed a good start and consider ourselves fortunate knowing that our quality burgers, fries, and shakes will keep our customers coming back," Yang says.

"Nevada has been an important market for us," says Andy Wiederhorn, chairman of Fatburger. "We have a loyal following in Las Vegas and Tahoe. Naturally, we're excited to see the brand doing well in Reno and look forward to working with Albert and his team as we continue to expand our franchise relationships here in the U.S. and abroad."

Founded in Los Angeles in 1952, Fatburger has restaurants in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, and Washington and internationally in Canada, Dubai, Macao, Beijing, and Jakarta.
