Sarku Japan will take its teriyaki and made-to-order sushi from mall food courts to the streets. On July 18, Sarku Japan opened its new free-standing concept, Teriyaki and Sushi Express, in Silver Springs, Maryland. Touting the brand promise “Fresh Happens Here,” the restaurant will feature chefs preparing made-to-order sushi and signature teriyaki recipes on a Teppanyaki grill, fresh for guests to enjoy. The Silver Springs franchise, located at 11201 New Hampshire Avenue at the White Oak Shopping Center, will be Sarku’s third free-standing concept in Maryland.

“We are thrilled to be opening the newest Sarku Japan® storefront in Silver Springs,“ says Bruce Kim, director of franchise development. “The growing popularity of Asian quick-service restaurants has reflected a change in American appetites. More people are health-conscious, and Japanese food—including our made-to-order teriyaki and sushi—satisfies a desire for fast food alternatives that are low-fat and fresh.”

Kim says with the popularity of healthy Japanese quick-service food like teriyaki and sushi on the rise, there has never been a better time to open a Sarku Japan franchise. The company offers franchisee support in all areas including training, operations, and marketing.

In addition to the Washington D.C. area, Sarku Japan launched its new free-standing concepts in metro markets such as Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. Continuing with its aggressive national expansion, Sarku aims to open 15–20 new locations per year.
