For the second year in a row, Pizza Patrón will be raising funds in all its stores nationwide for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during the month of October.

Pizza Patrón stores have St. Jude posters and counter top displays that explain why and how to donate. St. Jude is a pediatric treatment and research facility in Memphis, Tennessee, that treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by entertainer Danny Thomas on the premise that "no child should die in the dawn of life," the hospital is well known for being the only pediatric cancer center in the country that will not charge parents for any treatment not covered by their insurance plan. No child is ever turned away from St. Jude's because of his or her family's inability to pay.

"Our teams are very excited about St. Jude's 'Compre una Calabaza de Esperanza' or 'Pin Up a Pumpkin' fundraising program,” says Andrew Gamm, brand director for Pizza Patrón. “We raised $40,000 last year and hope to top that in 2011.St. Jude is an amazing charity and we hope everyone will come out and give generously."

Gamm said that donations of any size can be given and the donation will be indicated on the receipt in a separate line item. All of the money raised will go to St. Jude's.
