Centerplate, the largest hospitality partner to North America's premier sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment venues, will play hospitality host to the 14th annual Allstate BCS National Championship Game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

True to New Orleans' legendary reputation for hospitality, Centerplate is planning on serving over 72,000 Louisiana State University Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide fans.

To make the BCS National Championship a real New Orleans experience, Centerplate is greeting fans of LSU and Alabama with an exciting new menu, innovative fan promotions, and enhanced customer service programs.

  • Alligator Sausage Alligator tail meat and pork sausage served on a toasted bun
  • Jambalaya- Smoked Andouille sausage and chicken in a spicy creole sauce, blended with rice and garnished with blackened chicken strips
  • Shrimp PoBoy– Louisiana Gulf Shrimp dipped in house batter and deep fried and served on PoBoy bread
  • BBQ Shrimp and Grits- Louisiana Gulf shrimp barbequed New Orleans style, with peppery butter sauce and served over grits
  • 4th and Inches- For sharing, a 36" PoBoy sandwich, 1/4 fried oysters, 1/4 fried shrimp, 1/4 fried catfish and 1/4 fried crawfish tails

 

Over the 8-day period, Centerplate is planning on serving; 10,000 lbs of Shrimp, 700 gallons of gumbo, 2,000 lbs of rice, 18,000 lbs of pork, 55,000 bottles of water, 3,000 fresh oysters, and over 5,000 yards of hot dogs, almost 3 miles.

To handle all of the food, Centerplate has brought in over 6,000 employees and Not for Profit Organizations accumulating over 80,000 man-hours. Centerplate roughly estimates that $325,000 will go to local charities through the Not for Profit Organizations.

This year, to complement its culinary offerings, the company has also initiated a series of fan appreciation promotions including a "Bottomless Soda" served in a souvenir 32 oz refillable soda cup and the "2-Point Conversion," a special offer of 2 regular hot dogs at a discount combo price.

This season, Centerplate will host 11 college bowl games including the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Music City Bowl in Nashville, and the Military Bowl in Washington D.C., and the Orange Bowl in Miami. Throughout the year, Centerplate partners with 10 NFL clubs and 24 collegiate programs including the Alabama Crimson Tide.
