Sarku Japan, continues the northeast expansion of its free-standing concept, Teriyaki and Sushi Express, with the grand opening of a fourth New Jersey franchise in East Brunswick, located at 623 Route 18 South. Freestanding concepts are also planned for Ramsey and West New York, New Jersey.

After running a mid-sized paper and plastic goods distribution company for 18 years, local franchisees Paul and Shelly Fung decided they wanted to try the restaurant business.

“We are pleased to be introducing East Brunswick to Sarku Japan as a healthy and tasty alternative to traditional fast food,” Paul Fung says. “Always trans-fat free with no MSG added, Sarku uses only the finest ingredients in preparing its fresh, made-to-order sushi and teriyaki.”

“Many of our franchisees have made career changes with their decision to open a Sarku Japan franchise,” says Bruce Kim, assistant vice president of franchise development. “We have former bankers, technical engineers, and sales and marketing professionals all finding success in owning and operating their own restaurant.”

In addition to New Jersey, Sarku has six new free-standing stores planned for metro New York including East Meadow, two in Queens, Yonkers, Brooklyn, and Harlem.
