Today, Fazoli's launched its Pasta Art Contest to encourage elementary grade students (kindergarten to fifth grade) to trade in their taste palettes for artist palettes in order to make pieces of artwork using pasta.  The artwork can be in any form, including flat or sculpture.  The school with the winning entry will not only receive $2,500, but will also be featured on Fazoli's Facebook page as part of Fazoli's "World Pasta Day" celebration on October 25th.

Administrators, teachers, PTAs, and parents can sign their school up for Fazoli's Pasta Art Contest at www.fazolisbacktoschool.com.  The contest begins today, and submissions must be submitted via e-mail and sent to Fazoli's by October 19.  Photos of submissions will be judged by a panel of pasta experts and moms.  Winners will be announced on World Pasta Day, October 25, 2012.  The school with the first place entry will receive $2,500; the second place winner will receive catering for their school, valued up to $500; and the third place winner will be awarded coupons for free kids' meals for each enrolled student.

Cathy Hull, Fazoli's chief marketing officer, is excited to see the kinds of artwork Fazoli's will receive from students in the participating markets.  "Pasta is what makes Italian food fun," says Hull.  "As any mom knows, the fun really starts when kids are given the chance to play with their pasta."
