Just in time for New Year’s resolutions, Starbucks will launch a nutrition-packed start to the day with the new Starbucks Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal. The new Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal will feature a blend of steel-cut and rolled oats for a hearty blend texture, and new toppings including fresh blueberries; a fruit, nut and seed medley; and agave syrup for a touch of sweetness. Ready to eat in five minutes and packed with seven grams of protein and six grams of fiber in a 280-calorie bowl, the new Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal is a satisfying choice to warm up cold winter mornings.

“We know many people make wellness resolutions to kick off the New Year, and we’re excited to offer steel-cut oats and fresh fruit as part of our new oatmeal offering with Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal,” says Mary Wagner, Ph. D., senior vice president of research and development at Starbucks Coffee Company. “Starbucks oatmeal has been a customer favorite since its launch in 2008, and we’re committed to continuing to innovate and provide selections that support a healthy lifestyle.”

Also this winter, Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal will revamp with the new steel-cut and rolled oats blend, and a new name: Starbucks Classic Oatmeal. The trio of toppings—dried fruit blend, nut medley, and brown sugar—remains available to customize the Classic Oatmeal. With 100 percent whole grains and a hearty texture, Starbucks Classic Oatmeal and Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal each provide one of the recommended daily servings of whole grain, according to the USDA My Pyramid guidelines. Pair either oatmeal with an excellent source of calcium to start your day, Starbucks Tall (12 fl. oz.) Nonfat Caffé Latte.

“I’ve always loved grabbing a cup of Starbucks oatmeal as my go-to breakfast when away from home, and I’m thrilled that it is now blended with steel-cut oats,” says Michelle Dudash, registered dietitian and author of Clean Eating for Busy Families. “The new Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal—along with Starbucks Classic Oatmeal—has good protein and fiber, making it a great choice to help keep you fueled and satisfied all morning long.”

Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal will be available in approximately 4,500 company-operated stores in the U.S. beginning January 3, and Starbucks Classic Oatmeal will continue to be offered in participating company-operated and licensed stores in the U.S. and Canada.
