Escape Enterprises announced the opening of the Steak Escape Sandwich Grill in the Arena District of Columbus, Ohio.

The Steak Escape Sandwich Grill in the Arena District opened to the public on Thursday, January 24. It is the newest member of the family of franchised restaurants made famous for grilling up fresh steak sandwiches served with fresh-cut fries.

The restaurant, which seats 40 guests, employs a cast of approximately 15 people and offers a fast-casual dining experience on the go. Meghal Shah is the restaurant’s franchisee.

“We anticipate great success for Meghal, and look forward to providing the good people working in the Arena District with a fast, healthy alternative to the current mix of lunch-time choices,” says Jeff Fix, Escape Enterprises vice president of development.

The Steak Escape Sandwich Grill in the Arena District will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with expanded hours for hockey games and other downtown events.

The Sandwich Grill is the next generation of Steak Escape. The Arena District restaurant has the personality of a food truck, without the wheels. The Sandwich Grill format allows customers to interact with employees face-to-face and be part of the food-preparation experience.

Customers can choose from classic Steak Escape cheesesteaks and grilled sandwiches, or they can build their own sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes, and veggie bowls choosing from a variety of meats (grilled steak, chicken, or turkey), fresh-grilled vegetables, and sauces.

With more fresh options available and shorter wait times, the Sandwich Grill’s new urban-industrial feel allows customers to eat as healthy as they want.

Originator of the mall-based, quick-serve cheesesteak concept, Steak Escape prides itself on fresh-grilled cheesesteaks, fresh-cut fries, grilled sandwiches, smashed potatoes, and grilled salads.

Established in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio, the Steak Escape franchise has grown to include nearly 100 locations in the United States, Mexico, and the Middle East, and is looking to open locations in Japan.
