Bruegger’s Bagels celebrates the opening of its newest bakery in Tallahassee.

Bruegger’s Bagels is among the first tenants to open in the recently completed Mahan Village shopping center, a $26 million development at the corner of Capital Circle NE and Mahan Drive. The bakery is also the first to open since Bruegger’s Bagels announced plans to double its number of locations in the city, part of the chain’s national growth strategy to open more than 100 bakeries throughout the U.S. by 2015.

“We have such a loyal following to build on in the Tallahassee market, which is a primary reason we decided to focus our initial expansion efforts on this city,” says Bruegger’s Bagels President David Austin. “Our Mahan Village bakery will feature a new, fresh look and offer guests a welcoming environment to enjoy their favorites – whether it’s our fresh-from-the-oven bagels, just-brewed coffee, or signature breakfast and lunch items.”

New design elements at the Mahan Village bakery include updated menu boards, lively colors and fabrics, different seating styles, and an espresso bar featuring Bruegger’s Bagels’ custom-roasted coffee made from the highest quality, hand-picked Arabica beans from around the world.

The bakery will carry on Bruegger’s Bagels’ 30-year tradition of baking New York-style bagels in small batches all day, first kettle boiling and then baking in a stone hearth oven for a soft inside with a crispy shell outside. Guests can choose from more than 20 different kinds of bagels and can top their favorite bagel with a wide assortment of 100 percent made-in-Vermont cream cheese flavors.

Bruegger’s Bagels’ breakfast and lunch menu also features signature egg sandwiches, served all day, along with salads, soups, and lunch sandwiches. Espresso and coffees are also on the menu.

The 2,287 square foot bakery-café, located at 3122 Mahan Dr., features indoor seating for 46 and offers free Wi-Fi for guests. Hours of operation are 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
