Concessions International (CI), one of the leading foodservice concessionaires with operations in airports across the United States, announced its latest restaurant opening of the first Einstein Bros. Bagels in Terminal A of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The DFW Einstein Bros. is operated by a joint venture between Concessions International and MBC Concessions, an Atlanta-based ACDBE (airport concessions disadvantaged business enterprise) partner.

Atlanta-based Concessions International operates national brands in eight airports in the U.S. and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, including an Einstein Bros. in the Detroit airport.

The two brands have enjoyed an 11-year partnership established on a shared vision of excellence. This is CI’s first Einstein Bros. location in DFW, where it also will be opening the first airport location for Genghis Grill in Terminal E later this year.

The Genghis Grill restaurant will also be operated by a joint venture with MBC Concessions.

"We are very strategic in our approach to operation expansion,” says CI CEO Donata Russell Major. “Einstein Bros. Bagels is already a national favorite, so we are confident DFW travelers will appreciate the addition of this beloved bagel bakery to one of the nation’s busiest airports.”

Travelers to the DFW Einstein Bros. will be treated to the brand’s full menu of staples such as freshly made bagels, Darn Good Coffee, salads, hearty soups, and sandwiches.

The new location is part of the renovated terminal and will feature an all-digital menuboard, which will allow management to change the menu by daypart, as well as increase sales and reduce guest wait time.

“We have enjoyed a long partnership with Concessions International and are pleased to add an additional location at Dallas Fort Worth International,” says Jeff O’Neill CEO of Noah Restaurant Group.

“We see opportunity for continued expansion at airports across the country, as consumers look for a fresh-baked bagel or sandwich and a freshly brewed hot cup of coffee before or after their flight,” he adds. “We are particularly pleased that Concessions International has taken advantage of our airport concessions disadvantaged business enterprise program, which helps qualified business partners to transition a struggling airport concept to an Einstein Bros. location.”

CI opened its first independent concessions at DFW in 1984—a specialty food store featuring desserts and baked goods—and has since operated a Wendy’s restaurant in the southwestern airport.
