Thirty-four years ago, two homemade ice cream guys named Ben and Jerry opened up the front door at their little mom and pop Scoop Shop in Burlington, Vermont, to celebrate their first year of business by handing out free ice cream all day long.

Fast-forward from 1979 to 2013 and Ben & Jerry’s is still giving it away. On its anniversary, Ben & Jerry’s brought its unique flavors to the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Los Angeles. The truck is just getting started as it embarks on a month-long tour to bring Ben & Jerry’s just in time to beat the heat of the season.

The truck will visit local businesses, movie production studios, non-profits like the Los Angeles Air Force Base, and community gatherings through June 10. Twitter-savvy fans can have the Ben & Jerry’s truck come directly to their home or office to serve up scoops of peace, love, and a few of the company’s best flavor combinations simply by Tweeting @BenJerrysWest.

Super Scoopers/Road Warriors/Truck Coordinators Jana Steele and Dan Bookmiller are the friendly faces operating the truck in Los Angeles. Customers can stop by and ask for Dan and Jana by name as they dish out smiles via thousands of scoops across L.A. for Ben & Jerry’s.

The truck will feature some of the finest in the company’s Greek Frozen Yogurt flavor line up, including:

·      Liz Lemon: Lemon Greek frozen yogurt with a blueberry lavender swirl

·      Raspberry Fudge Chunk: Raspberry Greek frozen yogurt with fudge chunks

·      Banana Peanut Butter: Banana Greek frozen yogurt with peanut buttery swirls

Fans can get the scoop, literally, by following the truck on Twitter @BenJerrysWest, or they can check out www.facebook.com/benjerry. They can also tweet the truck for a chance to bring some peace, love, and new Greek Frozen Yogurt to their worthwhile event.
