For the second year in a row, Meatheads has been named to Inc. Magazine’s 500|5000 list of fastest growing businesses. Meatheads was the highest ranked burger restaurant in the Food and Beverage section of the list, ranking 28th out of the top 100 companies. Meatheads also ranked 79th out of the Top 100 Illinois companies and 72nd on the Chicago metro area list. Overall, Meatheads was ranked 1,420 out of 5000, placing it in the top 30 percent of all companies on the list.

Founded in 2007, Meatheads is a Chicago-based fast-casual, family restaurant that is passionate about giving back to the community, supporting education, and youth athletics. With a new round of financing this year from initial investors, Meatheads continues to grow its presence in the Chicagoland area. In the past three years, Meatheads has grown 282 percent, added 165 new employees, and increased revenue from $2.7 million in 2009 to $10.5 million in 2012.

In the past year alone, we've added new items to our menu, expanded our charitable giving and hired more employees – all great signs for the company,” says Tom Jednorowicz, founder and CEO of Meatheads. “We're constantly looking for new neighborhoods and communities to join in the Chicagoland area and with additional financing secured, we'll be able to continue our expansion.”

The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 list is ranked according to percentage of revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009, and have revenue of no less than $2 million in 2012. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012. Other honorees this year include LivingSocial and Otterbox and previous members of the list include Microsoft, Pandora, and Zipcar.
