Avocados from Mexico, the subsidiary of the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association, recently completed their first foodservice promotional partnerships to great success, showcasing Avocados from Mexico on summer menus at Pie Five Pizza and Taco Mac Sports Grill. These limited-time offer specials boosted summer sales for both chains.

Avocados from Mexico added a twist to Pie Five’s new Chicken Awesome-Cado LTO pie, the first avocado appearance on their menu. Pie Five fired up its summer sales with the addition of this pizza. Topped with avocados from Mexico, grilled chicken, tomato, onion, crema, and a Mozzarella-Provolone blend, this pizza broke previous LTO first day sale records and is the their second highest selling LTO to date. Pie Five received rave reviews from customers on this offering.

Taco Mac Sports Grill also increased summer sales by offering three new LTO dishes featuring avocados from Mexico: a Shrimp and Guacamole Wrap, a Santa Fe Burger, and a Guacamole Appetizer. Two of the items were the second highest selling in their category, and all three were successful enough to be added to the year-round menu insert.

“Working at a restaurant that is so keyed in on freshness made our use of avocados from Mexico over the summertime a huge hit,” says Peter Golaszewski, director of culinary development and procurement for Taco Mac. “All three dishes were so popular that we’ve added them to our menu full time. We’re excited to bring fresh avocados from Mexico to our patrons year-round with these new menu additions.”
