Toufayan Bakeries, a family-run bakery in the U.S., announced its partnership with HealthCorps, a 501(C) 3 founded in 2003 by heart surgeon and Daytime Emmy Award–winning host Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa. The organization aims to teach kids about the benefits of proper nutrition, exercise, and mental resiliency. Toufayan and other better-for-you lunch options will be featured in multiple HealthCorps in-school and community activities.

“We whole-heartedly support HealthCorps’ mission to shape a newer, healthier generation,” says Karen Toufayan, VP sales and marketing at Toufayan. “We are honored to be part of their program and very excited to help kids find delicious ways to power their bodies with food. As a family business, helping families find nutritious, delicious ways to enjoy food together, at home, and on the go is an inspiration to us every day.”

HealthCorps embeds recent college graduates in high-need high schools across the country to educate students in health and wellness. HealthCorps will feature Toufayan at several of its programs, including its Teen Battle Chef competitions, its annual Gala, and the organization’s two flagship “Highway to Health” health festivals in New York and Sacramento.

“It’s incredibly gratifying to partner with this family owned business,” says HealthCorps president, Michelle Bouchard. “We look forward to sharing their ‘better-for-you’ lunch options with our students through our various programs.”
