Smashburger, one of the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” concepts, continues its Camden County expansion with the opening of its newest restaurant at 1120 White Horse Road, Voorhees, on Wednesday, January 22. Owned and operated by Voorhees Smashburger, Smashburger brings its burgers along with its Häagen-Dazs shakes, sides, and regional menu items crafted to please local’s palates. The company, which has hired 55 local team members to staff this new location, plans to open 15 restaurants throughout southern New Jersey and south Philadelphia over the next four years.

Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. Its menu includes:

New Jersey Burger: Applewood-smoked bacon, blue cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on an onion bun

Classic Smash Burger: American cheese, smash sauce, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion on an egg bun

Avocado Club Chicken Sandwich: fresh avocado, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, and mayo on a multi-grain bun

Smashfries: fries tossed with rosemary, olive oil, and garlic

We are excited to continue our Camden County expansion with the opening of our new Smashburger location in Voorhees,” says David Damato, vice president of operations, Voorhees Smashburger. “We recently opened a location in Cherry Hill, which was well received by the community. By offering high-quality and delicious burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, tossed salads and more using the freshest ingredients, we anticipate a similar reception in the Voorhees area.”

In every Smashburger market, we explore what consumers enjoy eating and then bring those tastes and flavors to our menu in an innovative way,” says Smashburger founder and chief concept officer Tom Ryan. “Guests will be excited about the unique regional burger, chicken sandwiches, and salads we’ve created.”

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100-percent—fresh, never frozen, Angus Beef and is smashed on a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the burgers are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of fresh produce, real cheeses, and high-quality condiments.

Customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled chicken sandwiches and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of sides including rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve hand-spun Häagen-Dazs shakes and Stewart’s root-beer floats in frosted mugs.

We recently opened our 250th restaurant and are now in four international countries,” says Scott Crane, CEO of Smashburger. “We saw the consumer trend in demand for quality burgers in the fast casual segment a few years ago. Our timing to introduce Smashburger couldn’t have been better.” Opening its first restaurant in 2007, Smashburger reports that growth and demand in the “better burger” segment has never been stronger. “David Damato and his team continue to do a great job expanding the Smashburger footprint within the south Jersey and Philadelphia market” Crane adds.
