Ottawa’s second Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip opened its doors on Thursday, January 23, at 5373 Fernbank Road in Kanata. It joins the area's original location at 3350 Fallowfield Road in Barrhaven.

The latest opening signals Nestlé Toll House Café's commitment to continued growth throughout Canada, where its cookies and baked treats have been popular.  Three additional cafés are slated to open in the country in the immediate future.

Local business couple Ayman Abbas and Feda Shureih own the local franchise.

"Even though everyone knows us for our delicious chocolate chip cookies, we're also becoming a destination for coffee lovers thanks to the premium coffee and espresso we serve," Abbas says.  "We like to think of our café as more than a typical restaurant.  It's a place to relax, indulge in a fresh-baked confection and recharge for the day's activities."

The dessert concept is built around a powerful food name: Nestle. Along with its Nestlé Toll House cookies and cookie cakes, the café serves brownies, muffins, smoothies, self-serve yogurt, waffle cones, coffee, espresso, and newly introduced srepes for lunch.

"We are extremely proud to have Ayman and Feda as part of our franchise community," says Shawnon Bellah, senior vice president of international operations for Nestlé Toll House Café. “They both bring a level of detail to customer service that elevates the Nestlé Toll House Café experience to greater heights. In addition, the Kanata location more firmly plants our roots in the Ottawa market from which we can expand our indulgent offerings to our friends throughout Canada.”
