Saladworks opened its first North Carolina location in Wendover Place Shopping Center in Northwest Greensboro. The new Saladworks location is located at 1210 Bridford Parkway, a high-traffic commercial center in the suburbs of Greensboro.

This new location is owned and operated by Lisa Rizzo, a Greensboro-area local and veteran of the restaurant industry. Rizzo first fell in love with the Philadelphia-based brand while she was growing up in northern New Jersey.  She now lives in North Carolina and wanted to bring her favorite restaurant to her hometown.

Rizzo says she chose to open a Saladworks franchise because she wanted to help her community eat better and noticed there weren’t many healthy dining options in the area.

“I hated when you went into any fast-food restaurant and weren’t quite sure about what you were putting into your body. I didn’t want that for my restaurant. I wanted to make sure that customers in Greensboro, from mall visitors to busy professionals, had access to fast, fresh and guilt-free meals,” Rizzo says.

The new Saladworks location offers the new Saladworks Carvery menu of eight Carver salads, in addition to its standard menu of 12 signature salads, soups, panini sandwiches, and more.  Saladworks Carvery adds four hot, grilled meats to the menu, able to be added to any salad: lemon chicken, barbecue chicken, grilled steak, or seared ahi tuna. Additionally, customers can choose from 10 new ingredients, exclusive to Carvery.

“I’ve had 10 to 20 people a day come up to me and ask when the ‘salad store’ is opening” Rizzo says. “We are going to fit right in here.”

This store is currently the first store in North Carolina, with two more stores planned for North Carolina in the near future.

“North Carolina has always been a strong target market for our brand,” says Paul Steck, president. “We feel fortunate to have Lisa Rizzo on our team; her strong work ethic and dedication to customer service will be integral in making Saladworks successful in  Greensboro and its surrounding area. We have received requests to bring a store to North Carolina for a long time, and as of today, we are proud to say that our doors are open.”
