On May 29, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill opened in its first restaurant in Manhattan, New York City.

“This opening is certainly a long time in coming, but is well worth the wait,” says John Gainor, president and CEO for International Dairy Queen, Inc. “Our fans have been requesting that we open in Manhattan so we are thrilled to finally be here. We invite everyone to celebrate with us today and enjoy DQ signature treats and our full food menu.”

Located at 54 West 14th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues, the Manhattan DQ Grill & Chill restaurant offers a range of food options and Dairy Queen soft-serve treats. In addition to Blizzard Treats, DQ Cakes, cones, sundaes and  shakes, the restaurant offers a full line of Orange Julius fruit-blended beverages. All Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius Original drinks are available in eight flavors including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry, Mango Pineapple, Berry Pomegranate, OrangeBerry and Piña Colada.

The Manhattan location is the only two-story DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in the country. The 2,500 square-foot location, which seats more than 100, will contribute to the New York’s restaurant sales, which are projected to increase by 3.6 percent this year, according to the National Restaurant Association.

LSQ Foods operates the Manhattan location, and the company plans to expand in Manhattan with the DQ brand. In 2013, the Dairy Queen system also opened a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Massapequa and the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
