MOD Pizza will bring its artisan-style pizza to Portland International Airport (PDX) in 2015. As part of the Port of Portland’s expansion of airport concessions, MOD will open in the C Concourse with a temporary kiosk on January 1, 2015, with their permanent store opening in April 2015.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of several Northwest brands to serve guests travelling through Portland International Airport. More than anything, we look forward to sharing our delicious pizza and unique culture with travelers from around the globe,” says Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO of MOD Pizza. “As we grow, we continue to seek unique sites that allow us to connect with people in settings where we can showcase our amazing food, locally inspired store design and our unique style of MOD service. The Portland Airport will be a perfect fit.”

The award-winning PDX concessions theme is based on offering the best of the Northwest in addition to popular national brands. “We welcome these exciting new shops and restaurants to our airport family,” says Chris Czarnecki, port general manager of aviation business and properties. “We searched far and wide to bring these great options to our travelers, speaking to some 250 individuals interested in operating at PDX.”

MOD operates 20 stores in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Colorado, with more than 30 stores slated to be open across eight markets by the end of 2014. In addition to leading with a strong company development plan, MOD launched its franchise program, which is open to a limited number of partners in select markets across the U.S.
