Erbert & Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop, the national sandwich chain known for its flavorful gourmet subs, is making a difference nationwide by donating over $20,000 for multiple charities.

This summer, customers helped Erbert & Gerbert’s make a difference throughout the country by donating a dollar to the chain’s charities. For every dollar donated, customers receive a dollar in Comet Cash to use at their next visit to Erbert & Gerbert’s. One hundred percent of their donation went to the chain’s designated charities, which included JDRF, the charitable organization dedicated to curing Type 1 diabetes.

“Our franchisees have always been very supportive of their local communities and are excited to make such a positive contribution,” says Chuck Schwalbe, director of marketing. “We are thrilled to be able to give back and help out these great organizations.”

Founded in 1988 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and themed originally from a child’s storybook, Erbert & Gerbert’s has grown to over 80 locations in eleven states, with locations ranging from urban centers to rural areas. Growth for 2015 is targeted in Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Missouri, and Nebraska, with additional franchises slated to open in Michigan and Texas.
