Posiflex USA will reveal the MT4008, a new mobile 8-inch tablet system to complement its touch-screen terminal portfolio at NRF15, Booth #2969.

Posiflex, long associated with durability, bridged the fixed station to mobile gap. The fanless MT4008 with an 8-inch display is built tough with an aluminum chassis. The tablet utilizes an Intel processor running Windows 8.1 with a 1024×768 screen resolution, so most Windows-based applications can be ported over with minimal to no modification. By adding a pistol grip and docking station, the MT4008 becomes a full-featured, compact POS system or kiosk. This hybrid solution has features of fully fixed terminals, but with mobile flexibility.

In addition to a charging station, the MT4008 pistol grip includes a built-in removable battery extending the tablet’s operational life well past an 8-hour shift. With the pistol grip, retail clerks can use an integrated 1D or 2D built-in barcode scanner for inventory, line busting, or ticket taking. The tablet hand strap is ideal for servers on the go.

Two cameras are integrated into the tablet to scan coupons for retail and hospitality uses. An encryption-capable magnetic stripe reader allows for quick card swiping from anywhere. Wireless capability makes it easy to print receipts on the run from the integrated 3-inch thermal printer in the charging station, or when used as a traditional fixed position all-in-one POS.

This hybrid solution does not skimp on connectivity. The MT4008, when docked, includes serial, USB, LAN, and cash drawer ports.

Build on the flexibility of the MT4008 system by adding only the optional peripherals your business dictates. The MT4008 has the power, durability, and functionality of a traditional POS system, combined with the simplicity and sleek design of a tablet. This hybrid flexibility provides a perfect bridge to meet the never-ending challenges of serving customers without sacrificing uptime.
