One of the first in the franchise system to receive the remodel, the Chronic Tacos location in Saugus, California, will open the doors to a newly renovated restaurant on March 14, 2015. Although the location is not closed due to the remodel, the local owners will celebrate the completion of the project inviting customers and the community to a party at the location on April 1 starting at 6 p.m. To further show its customer appreciation, the Saugus location is currently celebrating Taco Tuesdays every week until May 1 with a two dollar taco promotion.

The location at 27665 Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus will be renovated to include comfortable booth seating, a new floor, updated branding with signature signage and added lighting, as well as three new flavors of fresh daily brewed iced tea. Already popular in the area, Chronic Tacos’ high quality Mexican cuisine is fueled by third generation family recipes and paired with Southern California flair.

“Since opening this location nearly 8 years ago, our customers and community have been incredibly supportive of our business and ventures that have stemmed from it. We are all parents with families immersed in the Saugus community and we have found great opportunities to give back and support local efforts,” says Jim Phillips co-owner of the Chronic Tacos location in Saugus. “We’ve built this business to help drive philanthropic initiatives, partnering with local churches and organizations to provide food for those in need and building homes for families in Mexico. Now, we’re celebrating our continued success to thank our loyal customers, friends and neighbors for their continued involvement in our efforts and support of our business.”

Following the upcoming remodel, Phillips and his partners will be opening a second location in early May. Answering the consumer demand of Santa Clarita, the new location will open in Valencia to better serve the greater area. The Valencia location will be the second location for the owners, who are part of a system of many multi-unit Chronic Tacos franchise owners.

“The group in Saugus has been a strong asset to the Chronic Tacos family since they joined our team as single unit operators. One of the first to remodel their location, and now with the brand experience and an incredible following in not only Saugus but the greater Santa Clarita market, we are so excited for them to continue building their business in Valencia,” says Mike Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos. “The renovations to the current location will be in place as they continue to build the second, creating even more cohesion throughout the system. I can’t think of a more deserving group to experience such great success and we are so proud to have them in our franchise system.”

In addition to the remodel and continued expansion into Valencia, Chronic Tacos locations are currently under development in cities throughout California including Bakersfield, Costa Mesa, Torrance, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Redlands. With a dominant presence in California as well as in Nevada and Vancouver, Canada, Chronic Tacos has multi-unit franchise agreements for 12 new locations in Colorado, three locations with the opportunity for 12 additional in Washington, and its first location in Phoenix with the opportunity for 14 additional Arizona locations. Soon, North Carolina will be Chronic Tacos’ first East Coast outpost with 5 new locations popping up in this state. Burnaby, Canada, will also get to enjoy the Chronic Tacos experience this year.

Company plans call for more than 10 new locations in 2015. Opening nearly one location per month, Mohammed plans to double the company growth with 20 new restaurants per year moving forward, projecting more than 100 locations by 2018.

The eclectic Chronic Tacos menu features authentic third generation Mexican recipes and encourages customers to customize their orders. Ingredients are fresh, locally sourced, and prepared at each location daily from scratch. The Chronic Tacos menu offers burritos, tostada bowls, tortas, taquitos, flautas, salads, and tacos. Customers can choose from carne asada (steak), pollo asado (chicken), carnitas (slow-cooked pork), al pastor (spicy marinated pork), and fresh pico de gallo and guacamole. Seafood lovers can also order grilled, beer-battered, or baja-style fish and shrimp. Chronic Tacos also serves a breakfast menu all day that includes tacos and burritos. Rounding out the menu, Chronic Tacos offers a variety of Mexican beers, sodas, and a popular Mexican favorite, horchata.
