For the 14th consecutive year, Bojangles’ is supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) through its Shamrocks Against Dystrophy in-store fundraiser. Starting Friday March 6, through Sunday, March 22, customers can help Bojangles’ support MDA by purchasing a green shamrock for $1 or a gold shamrock for $5. Every dollar raised through the fundraiser will be donated directly to MDA to help fund for hundreds of children to attend an amazing week at MDA Summer Camp.

The program is offered at all company-owned Bojangles’ and participating franchise locations. Customers who support MDA by purchasing a $1 or $5 shamrock will be rewarded with a coupon for a free Bo-Berry Biscuit—a Bojangles’ made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuit filled with Bo-berries and topped with a sweet icing drizzle.

“Bojangles’ is proud to be a sponsor of various fundraisers that support the MDA’s mission to fund research seeking treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases and to provide support and healthcare services to MDA families,” says Bojangles’ president and CEO Clifton Rutledge. “We’re excited to host our annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser again this year. We appreciate all of the hard work of our Bojangles’ team members and loyal customers whose generosity has continued to provide funds for hundreds of incredible children to experience a magical week of MDA Summer Camp.”

MDA’s Summer Camp is a one-of-a-kind camp experience offering a wide range of activities specially designed for young people who have limited mobility or use medical equipment such as wheelchairs. All programs are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere to give campers an unmatched opportunity to develop lifelong friendships, share interests, and build self-confidence alongside those dealing with similar challenges.

Over the course of its 17-year fundraising partnership, Bojangles’ has raised almost $4 million to support MDA. The cost of sending one child to MDA Summer Camp for a week is $800, and MDA depends solely on the efforts of its corporate supporters and individual donors to raise these funds. Last year, the Bojangles’ company and franchise restaurants raised a new Shamrocks record of over $530,000, sending more than 660 children to MDA Summer Camps throughout the brand’s operating markets. The goal this year is to exceed last year’s record and to provide more children the opportunity to experience the joys of MDA Summer Camps.
