Houston-based Salata, the fast-growing custom salad and salad wrap restaurant company, announced its 26,000-square-foot corporate complex in west Houston. Located on nearly two acres at 16720 Park Row, build-out on the facility began in January. Completion is estimated for summer 2015.

“Our chain has doubled in size, and we’re rapidly outgrowing our humble headquarters near our first restaurant,” says Salata founder and CEO Berge Simonian. “The new headquarters gives our hardworking, dedicated management staff a solid base, while the investment in a state-of-the-art facility supports our growth.”

The headquarters will house offices for the chain’s corporate employees, a training restaurant for franchisees and managers, and a production facility for the brand’s proprietary house-made dressings, soups, and sauces. Salata stands alone in its category with this type of dedicated production facility.

“Since the beginning, Salata has made its own custom dressings, soups, and sauces, and we’re proud to share them with our loyal guests,” Simonian says. “The new production facility emphasizes our commitment to quality and allows Salata to stand out among its competitors.”

Another unique feature of the new headquarters is the 2,500-square-foot restaurant located at the street level. Open to the public during regular lunch hours, it will also serve as a test kitchen and training restaurant. Neighborhood patrons may have the opportunity to test new ingredients or stick to their favorites.

The chain currently operates 42 locations in Texas, California, and Illinois and plans to open 20 additional units in 2015.
