Carvel is celebrating Free Cone Day Thursday, April 30 from 3-8 p.m.  Participating Carvel shoppes will treat guests to a free junior cone filled with their choice of freshly made vanilla, chocolate, or limited-time soft ice cream made with Ferrero’s Nutella hazelnut spread.

In addition to enjoying free soft ice cream, guests are encouraged to help raise money for the American Red Cross on Free Cone Day. Throughout the day, Carvel will offer a $2 coupon book worth more than $20 in savings. All proceeds from sales of the coupon books will go toward a $20,000 donation to support the organization’s disaster relief efforts. This year, Carvel will surpass $125,000 in total contributions to the American Red Cross since 2012.

“Free Cone Day is always an exciting time but this year is extra special because guests can try our wildly popular soft ice cream made with Nutella – absolutely free,” says Carvel President Scott Colwell. “We hope everyone visits their nearest participating Carvel shoppe to enjoy our delicious ice cream and help us support the American Red Cross.”

Until May 31, guests can try a variety of ice cream treats that feature Nutella including an all-new Thick Shake, hand-scooped ice cream, and a Sundae Dasher with Chocolate Crunchies.

As the first retail ice cream franchise in the country, Carvel has become one of the most recognized names in the ice cream industry. Since its founding in 1934, the brand has expanded its menu to include an extensive line of hand dipped and soft ice cream, take-home novelty treats, and premium ice cream cakes. All Carvel treats are handcrafted at local Carvel shoppes daily and are made with only authentic soft ice cream.
