Wisetail is proud to announce Shake Shack is the winner of its 2015 Wisetail Way Award. The award recognizes and celebrates innovators in Learning & Development. As one of the most successful fast casual restaurants in the country, Shake Shack has taken a truly visionary approach to employee engagement and training by deploying its social learning platform, “ShackSource.” The award highlights the work of Shake Shack’s Peggy Rubenzer, vice president of People Resources and Joanna Siegel, training and content manager.

“ShackSource represents one of the most progressive and forward-thinking employee training platforms around—built upon a unique culture of learning fostered by Shake Shack’s leadership. As such, we’re proud to recognize Shake Shack’s Peggy Rubenzer and Joanna Siegel as visionary leaders in the field of Learning & Development,” says Wisetail CEO Justin Bigart.

As award-winner Peggy Rubenzer, Shake Shack’s vice president of People Resources says, “Our vision was to engage our team members in the same ways social media does—giving them the ability to contribute their own training videos, to comment on training content, and to recognize each other's efforts.”

The Wisetail Way Award recognizes and celebrates innovators in Learning & Development. We are excited to share the stories emerging from the new L&D landscape. Shake Shack earned the distinction based on its visionary approach to employee engagement, employee training, their intense obsession with details, and their ongoing commitment to treating employees as guests.

Past Wisetail Way Award winners include Angela Chesmore of Ascension Information Systems and George Donahue of Zoës Kitchen.
