Fitlife Foods, the leading Southeastern independent retailer of healthy, fresh-prepared meals, hosted its first-ever annual FitLine event and raised $5,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) on Friday, October 9.

“Sometimes your daily allowance of awesomeness goes beyond amazing ingredients and the best, fresh, made-from-scratch prepared meals," says David Osterweil, founder and CEO of Fitlife Foods. "Sometimes it means screaming 25 feet above downtown city blocks for 100 yards for an amazing cause.”

Approximately 2,000 thrill seekers and community members in need of their "daily allowance of awesomeness" had the opportunity to zip-line down Franklin Street in downtown Tampa, Florida.

Two 100-yard zip lines, 25 feet high, were featured and people were able to zip directly through the heart of downtown. Adults and children alike enjoyed soaring above the city and climbing a rock wall or enjoying Fitlife Foods snacks and beverages provided by Michelob Ultra and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

It was an enjoyable day and the team at Fitlife Foods was excited to share the Fitlife lifestyle with the community and attendees, while raising awareness about Type 1 diabetes.

“On behalf of everyone living with Type 1 diabetes, we truly appreciate this donation from Fitlife, which will help fund our mission to treat, cure, and prevent Type 1 diabetes,” says Carolyn Boos, executive director of JDRF Tampa Bay Chapter.
